GLEE – Season Finale Performance “Faithfully”

Glee certainly wrapped up their debut season on an emotional note. As for those tears that New Directions shed? They were the real deal.

“Just so you know, no one needed any help crying,” reveals Glee’s producer and director Brad Falchuk to E!. “They all did it on their own without the use of tear enhancers.”

What else was bona fide legit from the ep? Will’s smooch with Emma. Get this — Jayma Mays, who plays McKinley’s resident germaphobe guidance counselor, didn’t even know the kiss was coming. “I pulled [Matthew Morrison] aside and told him to kiss her. Her reaction is totally real,” Brad continues.

As for next season, Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) and his Quinn’s-baby-adopting-coach (Idina Menzel) may be back for another helping.

Executive producer Dante Di Loreto spills that Jonathan “came out on the tour with us and the audience loved him. I sure hope he gets a chance to come back on.” Ditto for Broadway legend Idina. “I hope there’s an opportunity for her to be back,” he confides. “I think she’s a really interesting character.”

So you Think You Can Dance – Top 10 finalists become Top 11

The ” So You Think You Can Dance ?” judges pulled another fast one on us last night. Instead of a Top 10, we ended up with two short of a baker’s dozen.

(Remember last season we thought we saw them dole out all the Top 10 lady slots, leaving that mugging ballroom dancer a spot on her couch, watching her hot husband compete without her, but then it turned out someone turned down their offer, so whatshername was in? Sneaky!)

And Wednesday night, it came down to fan-favorite Billy Bell and the mysterious Robert Roldan (also an Alvin Ailey dancer) for the final guys spot. Standing side by side, Adam Shankman first delivered the news to Robert that he’d made the Top 10. Billy was a good sport about it and gave him a hearty congrats. But then Adam told Billy he’d made it, too — they were having a Top 11 OMGWEEEeeeeee!

They couldn’t not have Billy Bell, right?? There was one clip of him doing a kick in Vegas that they flashed briefly that, not to sound too dramatic, but it literally took my breath away. Yes, he struggled with that god awful group routine, but aren’t most of the group routines an embarrassment?

A few notes on the rest of the Vegas auditions, before we get to who else made the Top 11:

Ida, whose mom is from Iran and wasn’t allowed to dance there, quit! She had been doing poorly so she made up some excuse about school and the judges shamed her for it and that was that.

Billy’s group for the group routine also included that Ryan chick (Mia’s protege), Adechike and Lexie — all impressive dancers, such a bad routine. Adam called it “a disaster of epic proportions” and wanted to cut all of them on the spot. Obviously, they didn’t.

Ballroom dancer Cristina Santana conquered the contemporary routine, much to the judges’ surprise, while Burn the Floor’s Giselle flopped around like a fish. She was cut and it made Mary Murphy cry. Hair girl was cut in contemporary, too.

F1 world worried about closed European airports

F1 world worried about closed European airports

April 17 2010: While the F1 circus late on a Saturday night is usually fixated on the grid and looking ahead to the grand prix, this year in China many paddock regulars are just wondering how and when they might get home.

Because of the ongoing eruption of the Icelandic volcano and the plumes of ash across the continent, nearly all European airports are effectively closed.

It is said possible the situation could go on for several days at the least, with weather forecasting service Accuweather predicting little change until late next week. (more…)
